Knitting Plans for 2013!

Wednesdays are always the best days because that’s when we meet at work for Knitting Club!

Today, we were talking about our plans for the year, one of my friends was saying she was looking forward to finishing her first garment, a French Blue boucle cardigan, (bang on trend!). Another friend is expecting their first baby due next Monday, and another friend has listed all her projects, whether they be knitting or quilting or whatever in a book. This strikes me as very brave. I am a bit overwhelmed at that tackling that task!

Let me explain. I have been thinking of this bright and shiny new year in terms of what I want to master in knitting. I am looking at an entrelac project, a Lady Eleanor shawl using my Jawoll Magic perhaps, and also considering short rows, thinking of a wingspan shawl, using my Xmas Noro. The Loop Knitting Group on Ravelry are doing a Knit Along of the new Pop Spots shawl, I am definitely taking part in that one! I have already delved into my stash for some alpaca in red, cream and blue, so that’s in hand.

In my stash from Santa, I have the ingredients for a long awaited Stonecrop shawl, and before Christmas I bought some fabulous burgundy yarn to make a vintage bedjacket (my current obsession courtesy of Franklin’s recent class) and some blue cashmere just to see what it was like. Also I have a bag of Shilasdair Aran to make a log cabin blanket, and no-one please is to bring up the huge stash of Nimu yarn I bought at Ally Pally or the further kilo of Nimu I bought on an Xmas discount code on impulse. Oh! Oh! What about the fabulous Berroco Lodge yarn to make the amazing crochet scarf I got also from Santa!!

Now, as I am in full confessional mode, I have to own up to a stash of epic proportions I have completely glossed over above, and I will draw a veil over that whole minefield…

Then, oh dear, there’s the subject of my 2012 UFO’s.

Off the top of my head, thats a navy cardigan that needs sleeves, a kid silk haze scarf, my red xmas jumper, my orange lace scarf, the grey socks, the gold cardigan that’s 95% finished, the blue thai silk shawl, and the crochet blanket. Don’t think about the two shawls just in need of blocking or the bag that only needs sewing up.

And whilst I’m on topic, why do I have 12 pages of patterns in my queue on Ravelry plus a whole book case of knitting books and magazines rammed with patterns I seriously think I’m going to get round to at some point in time….

I am a bad girl! I sound like one of the crazy hoarders off the tv! Help! Lol.
